Working Life

  • Matthew advises world-leading companies on the design and implementation of their share, fund and cash-based incentive arrangements, including arrangements that comply with local tax benefits.
  • He also advises global companies on legal and tax compliance for their incentive arrangements, helping companies to navigate complex topics, including securities laws, exchange controls and the tax treatment of those arrangments.
  • Matthew has particular expertise in advising banks, investment firms and asset managers on the application of financial services remuneration regulations to their remuneration arrangements, including on the practical impact of these regulations.
  • Matthew has been externally recognised as a Rising Star by the Legal 500 each year since 2019, and as an Associate to Watch (2021 – 2023) and Star Associate (2024 onwards) by Chambers & Partners.
  • Matthew co-chairs the ProShare Financial Services Focus Group and is co-secretary to the Share Plan Lawyers Corporate and Regulatory Committee.

  • Matthew is Tapestry’s longest serving lawyer, having joined us all the way back in November 2014! Matthew also served as our first employee-nominated Trustee Director, from our transition to employee ownership in 2020 through to 2024.
